Detecting and understanding natural selection in genomic sequences
Outline:
This course provides an overview of techniques used to detect different types of selection in genomic sequences: positive, negative, balancing, diversifying or directional. The methodology includes detecting selection in protein-coding genes (and predicting sites and lineages under selection), and can include techniques available for non-coding regions. Throughout the course, the material is illustrated with real data examples from high-profiled publications.
